Your First Visit
A firm foundation is needed on which to base our recommendations
for your dental health. Your first visit is spent conducting a
comprehensive examination. This includes discussing your medical
and dental history, taking x-rays if necessary, study models and
photographs. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking
with the name of your physicians and phone numbers. From this
information we are able to diagnose any oral disease that may be
present, so that we can discuss our findings and recommend proper
treatment. If more than one treatment option is available, this
will be brought to your attention, as well as our prognosis for
your oral health. An estimate of the fees will also be presented at
this time. We will make every effort to provide you with a
treatment plan that fits your needs, timetable, and budget.
Your Appointment
An appointment is a specific period of time in which technical
staff and a specialized room is reserved exclusively for you. We
try to be considerate of your time as well as that of our other
patients. We ask you to help us make the most of your time with us
by being prompt for your appointment. As a courtesy to our patients
and staff, please inform us of the need to change or cancel
appointments two (2) business days prior to the time that has been
reserved exclusively for you.
Financial Considerations
In order to help us keep our fees reasonable, payment is
expected at the time services are rendered. We accept Visa,
MasterCard, cash and personal checks. If you have dental insurance,
we will either generate a computerized insurance form or send your
claim by EDI (electronic data interchange). Our primary objective
is for you to receive the maximum amount allowed from your
insurance provider. Whether you have insurance coverage or not,
payment is still expected at the time services are rendered.
Infection Control
We know that many people are concerned about the possible
transmission of diseases in dental offices. We practice universal
precautions as recommended by the Canadian Dental Association and
Center for Disease Control. We use the autoclave (steam sterilize)
for our hand pieces and instruments. Those few items, which cannot
be autoclaved, are either disposable or cold sterilized using
chemical solutions. We wear gloves, masks, protective eyewear and
surgical scrubs for your protection as well as ours. We welcome
your questions and inspection of our facilities.
